A message from Tony’s Mom:

I lost my youngest son on July 11, 2009.  Tony was 24 years old at the time and 4 1/2 years later, I am still searching, learning, growing and finding my way through this new life.  I became involved with support groups and last year had the privilege of attending my first BP USA Gathering in California.  What a beautiful experience.  It was like being wrapped in love, support and Tony’s memory for the weekend.  I learned so much from not only the presenters and workshops, but from my new friends who truly understood what I was going through.  I believe that gratitude and hope play a very important role in out journey.  I could not be happier than to be able to pay it forward and provide this opportunity to share and learn alongside fellow bereaved parents. I wish you peace, hope, and love as you walk your path.

You may be the recipient of our scholarship to this years Gathering.

  1. Tim Doherty says:

Hello my name is Tim Doherty !!
I lost our oldest daughter on April 5 2014 to AML leukemia. She just turned 20 on March 2, 2014. She was diagnosed in early October 2013 and the story goes on. I adopted her at birth with my ex -wife and we have both been remarried for about 17 years to devoted spouses who loved Morgan beyond belief. Morgan spent most of her early years with my wife Sarah and I until she decided at 15 she wanted to live with her Mother. This is one of the hardest things we have ever had to deal with. I live in California and am looking for strength and guidance. Morgan has two small sister’s ages 5 and 8 who are having a really difficult time as well.

    Sincerely,
    Tim Doherty

    • Dear Tim,
I understand your pain all too well. I am so sorry that you have to go through this. If you like you may call 203-805-8239 and I would be happy to speak with you. You may also email me at anne@thetonybrownfoundation.org. I am not sure where in California you live but look for support groups like The Compassionate Friends or Bereaved Parents. Both are wonderful groups which offer help and support for bereaved parents.
This is the hardest journey you will ever do. Many have walked this journey before you and we have survived. Please email me your address and I will send you some information.
Much love, strength and courage to you and your family.
